THE
MIA REMEMBERED
EXPERIENCE

As of August, 2025, there are currently 80,986 missing in action men and women dating back from WWII to present.

But how do you truly understand the weight of that number?

The Missing In Action Remembered gallery, located in Bakersfield, California, will display a military dog tag for each of these missing soldiers.

Upon completion, the walk-through experience will allow visitors to surround themselves with these brave men and women, and feel the spirit of these soldiers who are still waiting to come home.

The gallery is estimated to open soon.

GALLERY PROGRESS

We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone in the installation of the dog tag display at the Portrait of a Warrior Gallery.

On August 24, 2025, we successfully installed the very last rack of our custom display system! This final step brings our project to completion, and we are proud to say the gallery now holds over 82,000 dog tags, each one a tribute to a fallen hero.

The completed gallery will be open to the public on Friday, September 19, 2025, a day that also holds special significance as National POW/MIA Recognition Day. We invite you to join us and witness this powerful and moving tribute in person.

We are so grateful for your patience and support throughout this journey. We look forward to welcoming you to the Portrait of a Warrior Gallery at 1925 Eye St., Bakersfield, CA 93301.

******

We’re excited to share that the dog tags have arrived, and we’re making great progress on the installation of the custom rack system that will display them.

The system consists of 16 sections, each containing 38 racks. Each rack holds between 106 to 140 tags, allowing us to organize over 80,000 tags in total. The sections are categorized by war, and each tag is carefully assembled by hand and hung alphabetically by the soldier’s last name.

This meticulous process ensures every tag is displayed with the honor and respect it deserves. While the assembly is time-intensive, we are confident that the final result will be worth the wait.

Thank you for your patience and support as we bring this meaningful project to life!

We are currently under construction in the Portrait of a Warrior Gallery at 1925 Eye St., Bakersfield, CA 93301.
